this was outside my house, off the sidewalk waiting to cross the road. I was watching traffic and she approached from behind, I guess to pet him? I didn’t hear her until it was too late. He’s sweet but very timid. His former owner definitely hit him.

A month later I get a letter in the mail from a lawyer. Scared the life out of me. Home insurance is dealing with it now.

I’m currently being sued by a woman who walked up on us when I was waiting to cross the street with Denny. I didn’t see her and he snapped at her arm. Just barely broke the skin. I apologized and asked if she needed medical attention. She said no, it’s ok, and I didn’t see her again.

Bruh! That’s brilliant.

Too impersonal.

But then of course I worry that the episode I’m on isn’t one of the Keith Morrison ones. And sometimes those are ok, but it’s unlikely I’d get a second shot at this.

But I also always worry I’d bring them the wrong cat by mistake and both the family and the cat pretend it’s the right cat, like in the documentary about that missing child that turns out to really be a weird adult. But then I get to meet Keith Morrison.

Whenever I encounter a “missing cat” flier I make a genuine effort to commit the cat’s face to memory and then I daydream about spotting the cat, returning the cat to their family, declining the reward money, acquiescing to the parade, getting a kind letter from Hoda
