I love my town's BuyNothing group because of the rules and control. It feels safe, neighborly, and scammers are very rare. There are other groups in my community that are similar if people want to be able barter, trade, gift, and ask without such strict rules.

In the midst of Threads debates I sort of forgot this platform exists and have some catching up to do. I need a shower first - Threads makes me feel dirty.

In the meaning, here are some lovely, sweet purple, bioengineered tomatoes that I grew from Norfolk Healthy Produce seeds.

Why was this guy even out on the street? It's not the first time he's done this.

Here I thought when I read the headline at first, "Finally DC has a good idea. Why aren't we already doing this?" Then I realized it wasn't about the US.

I've been watching this volunteer sunflower that sprouted in my yard for weeks and taking photos of its development. This morning I looked out the window and felt like I was the one being watched.

Is this a regular occurrence on the NCBI website? Should we be concerned about articles "disappearing?"

All I see in my Threads feed today is "1350%" and "Alligator Alcatraz."

Maybe it's time to reread these books I had to read in 8th grade when learning about The Cold War?

I just checked out Biofortefied. I was a homemade masker too, at least until it became clear that we should be wearing N95's and I could get them.

This may creep you out - I keep track of group members with "credentials." You are in at least two of the groups I monitor (I use a silent alt in the largest). The Admins blocked my others when I first started asking around about the groups and their bot-controlling Admins.

This is my first year growing them after seeing them lady year. BTW, I followed you here from a bioengineered food Facebook group (where I also learned about these tomatoes). I've been following a group of them and other groups connected to them for a science misinformation project I was working on.
