Would it make sense to use this OCI (or DB@X) databases also? Kinda like pre-check manually or does the OCI DB pre-check do the same?

What Exascale needs (IMO) is support for 19c. Feels like a powerhouse on the side which people don't have any reason to go to right now for a wider adoption.

This was nice, thanks to you both!

Although, I think your Redwood UI review might be slightly too positive. 😀

Looks like MOS (Oracle Support), enabled MFA yesterday for accounts. Continuing the good track record with MOS updates, seems you can only use SMS or email for the second factor. Using the Mobile Authenticator is probably too much.

The login process is now THREE PAGES vs the old single login.

I had the pleasure to announce the OCI Networking 2025 Professional certification, pumped that they asked me to write the announcement as I've always admired the @Oracle_Edu team behind these exams and learning content! @oracleace @OracleCloud

Here's my ora-dbXchecker which prints the output of Exa infrastructure in OCI/Azure/GCP.

FIgured it'll be good to get summary of the whole Exadata via APIs and not run single commands/browse the Console.

Been working on this discovery / deployment report script for a while, it's just a "simple" bash script but once you've deployed your DB@X (Exadata), it's nice to get all the info to a report.

Hoping to put it out next week! @oracleace.bsky.social

I think then if you want dashboard and more advanced stuff, you will have to do it with Logging Analytics. 😀 $$$

Would using jq query then work together with OCI CLI? I did something similar with Cloud Guard detector recipes, would have to test if it applies here. :)

If you use LogSearch then wildcard will work. I tested with IP* so it gets all the sources with different ports for data.backendAddr = '10.0.0.20*'

Which logs you mean? VCN Flow Logs handle it separately at least.

ZDM migration to Autonomous Database on GCP using Network Link for direct migration – part 1 | That Finnish Guy

Blog post! Two part post where I use ZDM to migrate my database to Oracle Autonomous DB on GCP. First part goes through the network setup as Autonomous runs on private VPC in Google.

How can we connect and make sure ZDM works?

This one talks about having to set it for private DNS: docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/paa...

Note that API GW FQDN is not the usual oraclevcn.com either.

Was writing a blog post on Autonomous DB and private endpoints (and DNS). We had issue where using UTL_HTTP and adding ACL gave unknown host for private API GW and after adding ROUTE_OUTBOUND_CONNECTIONS property it started to work. However.. :) Provisioned new DB and it works without the property!

OCI Status Welcome to OCI's Status home for real-time and historical data on system performance.

Seems like @oraclecloud.bsky.social had multiple issues on Friday, the email communication is spot on what they send, but what troubles me is they keep the OCI status page up and alive but don't bother updating it in the past 8 months anymore.

Hey Oracle folks, if I use Autonomous DB and login to DB tools with Admin user (from OCI Console) - does any audit log link that Admin user to a OCI identity? I want to know who logged on! 🙂

I've looked through Data Safe and it gets the OCI Console as source ip only I think?

Yeah I think the idea is good, but somebody like myself who has 10x OCI tenancies, 20 CSIs and mixture of SaaS and OCI + on-prem it's a mess how it was implemented.

What I hear, also Oracle's folks are struggling with this. We're told to read communication email as if it clears things. 😀

I feel like there's not enough talk about the new Oracle Support page. I know we can still use the old one, but whoever decided this is good to go for production use errr.

The amount of hours we've poured into figuring this out past weeks is absurd.
