This is not to say “college is never worth it”; I want engineers and doctors and lawyers to go to college, but the prevailing “just get a degree in something” wisdom was incredibly damaging for a freshman who just got a 1.89 after their first semester when the advice should have been “get out now!”

Fifteen years ago I graduated with a degree and the vague assurance that college would be “worth it”

By the time it’s all said and done I’ll have paid over $100,000 for absolutely nothing

It would have been a better financial and career decision to go directly into fast food for four years

I think a PlayStation Portal would get me to play more games;

The thought of a full-fat game on a handheld feels like much less of a hassle than on a TV/monitor

I don’t know, my brain is an obstinate piece of junk and won’t tell me

This is absolutely why I have a ton of nostalgia for college despite how awful a time it was in a lot of ways; I could wake up and walk everywhere I needed to go for everything I needed to do every single day, and that is an experience I’ll probably never have again

It was so much less stress…

Driving really keeps me from doing more things I want to do

I stress over directions despite GPS, driving in unfamiliar places, parking availability/payment method, the time it takes to get there and back, and it all leaves me feeling that it’s just not worth it

I want to live where I can walk!!!

I can’t be the only one out here who reads “BLS” as “Black Live Smatter” right???
