Having a big cast is not an issue, it's not equipping your story to handle a big cast that is an issue. There is no "big cast" problem there is just a bad writing problem. You can make a big cast feel alive in a story though tons of things it depends on how you use the space and the space you got.

I think the best part of being an artist is knowing that we have all collectively said "idk what I'm doing tbh" a few times at some point in our journey lol.

Saw a screening of a few of David Lynch’s short films. I miss seeing art made viscerally, cheaply, and for a small messy audience. It actually makes the world feel bigger and more interesting. Mass appeal shrinks it all down.
