If I had to pick a favorite bird, it would be the shoebill. I would also vote it "Most Likely To Win a Staring Contest".

Native to East African wetlands, the shoebill is in the pelican/heron taxonomic order (Pelecaniformes). Their scientific name Balaeniceps rex means "whale-headed king".

'Be worried, be very worried': Is Big Bend National Park in chaos? Big Bend National Park, one of most beloved Spring Break destinations in Texas, is dealing with unprecedented staff shortages after layoffs by Trump admin.

It's a good 5 hr drive from El Paso to Big Bend National Park, and it's one of the lowest traffic national parks in the US.

A line of hundreds of cars, closed alternate entrances, no maintenance of trash & bathrooms. There are going to be a lot of very angry people & hope they know who to blame.

I don't blame them.

This is a great message.
We all need to start looking out for one another.
Shop for your neighbors if they don't feel comfortable going out and shopping for themselves.
