They're just destroying the country, piece by piece, with shitposters and meme-lords.

This is the ad Donald Trump woke up furious about.

Would be a shame if it went viral.

This moment's tipping point:
when nationalized thugs,
posturing at being the army,
grab a protestor and drag their face over concrete.

For people who don’t care thatΒ much If someone snuck into my closet and switched out one brand of sneakers for a similar model from another company, it wouldn't bother me much. Popular cars like the Camry, the Civic and the Elantra don't have raving fans the way the Mini or the Rivian do. Go to the rental car counter and take what's on offer. Popular products and services succeed because they're normal, reliable, convenient, cheap or simply incumbents.

Trump’s militarization of Los Angeles seems to have been just the start of an authoritarian takeover of American cities.

This is not leadership. This is a scary, unlawful grab for power, and we should all be deeply concerned.

On that day, a rump Nazi government led by Grand Admiral Karl DΓΆnitz was holed up in a naval academy gym on the Baltic coast, the Soviet flag had been raised over the Reichstag, Hitler had been dead for a week, and German forces controlled only the tiniest bit of ... Germany.

Having accurate information about jobs in the US is kind of like having accurate information about a worldwide pandemic.

Neither the actual status of jobs nor the status of a pandemic care whether you know its status or not...

Are you sure a comma helps? I've tried placing one after every word and there's no comma that really helps. The word "for" after "cooking" seems to be the right fix to me... [but that's just me, perhaps I'm reading with the wrong accent...-]

What you've said is true - and - reversed.

We say "In theory this should work" when we think we did everything right and believe that it should work - but it isn't.

The call to action is to review, see what doesn't match the theory, change what we can - and re-try (Or update our theory).

Well, it appears Russia has tipped the counter over and suffered some 1 Million Casualties in their 3-day war (that is currently running over 3 years.... ).

Don't accept statements that Russia is in any way 'winning', they aren't.

Here's your call to action! Anyone who cares about the independent civil service should submit a public comment objecting strongly to this politicization of government positions that have until now been filled on the basis of expertise and experience.

The Hubris Is Off the Charts We’re in the middle of a self-inflicted financial collapse, but look at the bright side: The president won a golf tournament this weekend.

"Life and literature suggest that hubris fails. It brings nemesis. It results in tragedy. The trouble is that great damage is done. Trump’s hubris will do him in. He will be a failed president. The question is whether he’ll leave us a failed country."

Going to point out two things...

While the markets crashed, the orange guy was golfing.

And you know how every manufacturer uses this nifty new fangled lean inventory method - to reduce cost by only having what they need on hand and a steady stream of fresh inventory "on the way"?

It absolutely reduces costs in that flat world global economy.

It also means that there is no slough inventory or time. All of those globally supplied resources and parts are almost immediately going to be higher priced because of the tariffs.

If you've heard about how the Smoot–Hawley Tariff Act worsened the great depression in 1930 - eight months after the market crashed in 1929, think how these will affect things now.

Some 20 years ago I was afforded the opportunity to perform in Annie and took in the people's anger towards Herbert Hoover as expressed in the song "We'd Like To Thank You".

If we're replaying the global pandemic and depression from a hundred years ago, it does suggest that the orange guy is the next Hoover (in addition to being a convicted criminal, digital rapist, grifter, and all over louse).

Anyway, back to today's needs...

A tweet by Carolina Forward questioning the consistency of the Republican stance on voter fraud in North Carolina for the year 2024. The tweet reads: "If the official Republican position is that anywhere from 60,000-225,000 ballots in North Carolina were cast illegally in 2024, then why are they only demanding that the state Supreme Court race be reversed? By this logic, shouldn't Donald Trump's narrow win be overturned too?"

Oh, but you see they only want the elections they LOST overturned on technicalities.

Trump claims Greenland is needed for self defense. Hmmmm, from who?

Answer: Russia

So maybe instead let’s just make sure Russia is defeated in Ukraine?

Makes sense
