5 investigators: The Kid, a young looking girl in a polkadot dress and fire coming from one hand; Mike, circus strong man with a large metal pipe; Ariele, who looks like she came straight from a safari; Alex, an Australian in a green suit and two pistoles, and Elizabeth in a yellow gown and a revolver - miniatures from Cthulhu Death May Die board game.

And 5 more: The Kid, Mike, Ariele, Alex, and Elizabeth. Each character has 3 skills they level up, two that are shared with other characters, and one that is unique to them, which adds to the fun of playing with different teams.

5 of the investigators: Ian, a retired army vet with a missing arm; Sandra an archeologist with a hammer; Sam, a farmer with a pitch fork; Adilah, a Voodoo priest with a spear; and Rasputin with flames coming out of both hands - miniatures from Cthulhu Death May Die board game.

And then some of the investigators. We have all 4 seasons now, so nearly 50 heroes to paint. Just grabbing them randomly as I go so I don't remember which season each is from.
Here is Ian, Sandra, Sam, Adilah, and Rasputin (yes my BiL sings the song every time he plays him)

Two Albino Penguins - featherless penguin monsters with red-fleshy bodies, bright red eyes, and snarling beaks - miniature from Cthulhu Death May Die board game.

Five Sand Dwellers - humanoid monsters with long, skinny limbs and oversized heads that look like a bat - miniature from Cthulhu Death May Die board game.

Ancient One - squid looking monster with some tentacles looking like two arms, a pair of small wings, and a long head with light blue eye staring at you - miniature from Cthulhu Death May Die board game.

And some of the smaller monsters: Albino Penguins, Sand Dwellers, and an Ancient One.
Mostly aimed towards the card art for the minis as they already had great illustrations.

During the holidays I played a bunch of Cthulhu Death May Die. So I started painting the incredible minis so next holiday will be even more adventurous.

First up, some of the bigger monsters (those that aren't in an elder one box): Chthonic Entity, Shoggoth, White Polypous Thing, and Monstrous Frog

A short thread if anyone wants to Blanche their minis.

Step 1 - base coat black. I used a rattle can. It was cold. It left texture. I’m calling that deliberate.

Step 2 - slap chop/grisaille/whatever. I wanted a warmer base so I started with dark brown rather than grey. Then white.

I decided to create an inside section of the navel vessel flagship ‘The New Dawn’ before it was attacked by Nurgle. I scratchbuilt the base using GW bits from my spares box and plasticard and named it ‘The Voyage of Discovery’ 🌌

A comic of multicoloured foxes, many of whom have helmets, all of whom have beards, armed and standing in position against approaching pink monsters. Narrator: An epic battle between space dwarves and aliens turns swiftly A close-up of the bearsed space dwarves, who witness in shock how one of their brethren flies right up in the air, kicked off by a banana peel. Narrator: as one of them slips on an unexpected banana peel! Stunned, the space dwarf foxes keep firing their gun haphazardly towards the approaching aliens, missing every shot. Narrator: Shocked by the blunder, his comrades cannot aim! The beasts advance! Back in the real life, Blue and Green are playing a tabletop game - with pieces shaped and coloured like the aliens on Green's side, and figurines the same colour as the space dwarfs on Blue's side. Blue looks at the six dice scattered in front of him, puzzles. Blue: How did I throw six dice and they all missed? Green: The dice care not whose fate they squander.

I have an Iron Warriors militia army, but I've decided to add an Astartes detachment to help me build the army quicker. Plus they're so much fun to paint! A Proteus Land Raider here, which will be carting my Terminators around.

Pantmonger, venerable hobby nerd who remembers when DnD was 'advanced', minis were metal, & the panic was satanic.
