I'm more advocating for a floor with minor league players so they get paid a decent wage, and the union would have to negotiate that part as part of a hard cap deal.

You can only talk with your dollars so much when it comes to large corporations and businesses, and the risk of the team leaving.

Other teams can buy them, but they're not, and they haven't for a while. So what can you do? Cap what teams can spend so you can't buy all the players, that's the only thing the league can do. You cannot force teams to spend money on players that they don't want to, but you can cap what they spend.

MLB is ultimately a business and billionaires are going to pocket money one way or another, so might as well make the on-field product even. I'm all for the workers making more but it should be more about raising the wages for the lowest earners instead of maximizing potential most will never see.

That's how the system is designed right now under capitalism and you're not going to change that, so you can at least level the playing field in the sport for teams by capping spending and actually making people do moneyball and be efficient with money instead of the team that spends more wins.

This is like blaming AI companies for a lack of regulation. Regulate things so there is a level playing field, otherwise owners are going to make money however they feel like it.

It feels like a leap to say it's the wrong guy one year in (two counting the injury). I'm no JJ fan or believer but not allowing quarterbacks to develop and immediately jumping to the conclusion he's the wrong guy doesn't seem fair.
