And I just had to quit using ChatGPT for this months ago because...you guessed it, it just made shit up.

And google and shit is getting worse too, so I guess they're just feeding into each other. Death spiral. Cold death of web search. Sigh.

Before I could ask Perplexity a question about types of machinery and imaging equipment a clinic might have, and it would give me an answer that was almost always right (with a source to confirm it). Now it's often "I dunno man, fuckin you tell me."

I'm not morally opposed to using AI tools in a search, especially when casting as wide a net as possible. I'm looking for specialty clinics in Tokyo to help my chronic pain, I'll use any means necessary to find them.

But I've noticed recently that ALL the AI search tools have gotten much WORSE

I was handed a ChatGPT image and told “make it different”. I did - I spent hours finessing the design into something better and more specific for the character in the film. Waited a week for notes - then was told they got clearance from legal to use the original AI image instead. No need for any further work. This is what the director wanted. What are we doing as a society? What’s the endgame here? Replace every human until we are all homeless? I just don’t get it. If a major Hollywood film with a huge budget doesn’t see the need to work with real artists, is there any hope left?

Dude regularly works for Disney, DreamWorks, Netflix and CN so speculate away. But this sucks no matter which studio is doing it, and gross to think some major movie this year is running with a plagiarized image from ChatGPT.
