There are elements of the Hammer rags to riches and back story that are interesting, but this movie treats them as IMPORTANT!

This movie is an accidental masterpiece. It treats Hammer as if he’s one of the greatest stories in popular music and as solemnly as a Bible epic. It’s an unintentional skewering of the hollowness of the music biopic as a genre.

Obsessed with this shot from Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story (2001) in which the extras’ costumes are designed to evoke 1973, except for the couple dead center who wore their street clothes.
