Just got back from watching "One Battle After Another" to find a feed full of videos of ICE raids in the US and Badenoch promising to introduce it here. Whatever horror you put on film can't beat reality.

Here's why I think the far-right's Outrage Cycle over LGBT+ rep will fail:

They're obsessing over shows that were already cancelled or ended that didn't get much backlash when they released.

This won't appeal to normies.

They'll move on to the next Outrage Cycle in about a week.

No it does not, you dumb fucking assholes.

Negativity is important, but I feel the internet has created a sort of world where Negativity is ALL that matters... I'd like to fight against that.

And there it is. The entire attack on Netflix is just a grift for far right influencers to promote a religious streaming site.

It literally costs nothing to be a good person in life. It's not that hard and honestly, I don't think anyone should want to be mean and nasty all the time. What's the fun in that?

If you seriously can't watch an animated show just because it has queer and transgender characters, then you're beyond help.

This is proof that conservative parents don't spend actual time with their kids (well, we know Graham doesn't). If they did, they'd know that there have been queer characters on Netflix (and Disney, Nickelodeon etc.) for decades. Like, they're only just discovering Dead End Paranormal Park.

I hope there are advertising execs who are looking at the run-up marketing campaigns that glitch runs for its shows/episodes and how extremely successful they are when they believe in their own product, instead of just cynically dumping it and moving on

Heard through the grapevine about more stuff from someone who apparently saw a test screening of the original version.

It wouldn't have been one of Pixar's worst, of course. I'd say it probably would've been on par with Brave, but just slightly better. So like, a low 6/10.

Okay, I'll be real, the more I hear about the original version of Elio, the more thankful I am for the version we got, because V1 sounded like an overstuffed, tonally confused mess with a really bad third act.

I was listening to an old Casey Kasem American Top 40 (I find this soothing these days) from 1985 where he told the story of Wendy Carlos, who scored The Shining and Tron, and her journey to becoming trans. Casey got all the pronouns right and it was presented as a slice of life, feel good story
