When I was a student, the Chinese students, (who regarded them as essential) all had them on the landings of the stairwells to tower block flats, plugged into the cleaners’ sockets. (In the days before health and safety inspections!)

I didn’t really want to see it but loved it.

It was a bad decision made on the basis of assuming that someone who’d served and been loyal in Government would continue to be. The PM has apologised. It doesn’t compromise Starmer.

Good enough. McFadden’s right that we simply cannot keep changing PMs every 18 months. Starmer has a five year mandate and his party needs to stop navel gazing, get behind him and get on with delivering the change they promised.
