I don't think there's ever complete agreement within a party. It's more about the primary policies, surely? And IMO opposing the rise of fascism takes precedence over most other disagreements atm.

Bloody hell Gorton voting Reform, what a joke. Used to live around there in my early 20's. Can't imagine Farage cares a bit for the issues in the area.

This is key if we want to think of the "working class" and "the people" in a more political way
Having a "lower level of education" and being in "manual or routine occupation" in your 60s could well mean you own a house, have a good pension etc

The status quo "working" has led many to intellectual and moral complacency on these issues.
When US imperialism wasnt hurting us we didnt consider it a moral problem, or them as flaky allies.
When we said NATO wasn't working we were derided.
When we said a nuclear weapons system relying on the US is dangerous we were called stupid.
The truth is the establishment are more interested in kissing US feet than keeping the UK safe.
It's time for a rethink.
Again it is something that people in previous eras have commented on but I still find it just astonishing to witness in my own: fascism is somehow the natural ideology of loser men, just all of our most pathetic and contemptible instincts rendered into a worldview.

1926: the BBC decided women should not be radio announcers:
"The...physical strain...is greater than could be borne by the average woman", & "there is something incongruous in a woman announcing weighty news bulletins or...football results".
The decision was rapidly reversed after public derision.
If the answer to these questions is that we were lucky enough to be born in the UK in the past 50 years, then we ought to accept and face up to the groundlessness of our deepest values & get on with improving the world - not crying about it and grasping at falsehoods.

It doesn't need a treatise, and that would be pointless if it bottoms out in "so long as everyone goes along with it" (which it does ).
Part of the (good) criticism Humanists (org) has made of religions is that some seek to paper over their prejudices with implausible post-hoc just-so stories.
