I always check the seating before booking and go to nearly empty screenings and it still bugs me. Maybe I'm.not designed for cinema.
Exactly. How come nearly everything is noisy - nachos, popcorn, bags of sweets?

Taxes on the typical salary are now 55% higher than on self-employment income.
The effective tax rate for a self-employed worker equivalent to the median employee in 2025-26 was the second lowest in 50 years, behind only 2024-25.

So yer man is now saying he doesn't live in the UK and has no assets in the UK. Clearly he's deliberately salted money away elsewhere, he's not living on thin air.

27.10.2025 08:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0By John Manley, Politics Correspondent October 25, 2025 at 6:00am BST The Stormont executive is "subsidising" transatlantic holidaymakers' flights to the tune of almost Β£115-a-head, The Irish News can reveal. Thousands of air passengers travelling to the likes of Orlando in Florida, Cancun in Mexico and St John's in Canada are enjoying discounted flights thanks to the cash-strapped administration's decision to meet the cost of Air Passenger Duty (APD) on long haul routes. The executive decided to take the financial hit on APD 13 years ago with the aim of supporting regular direct air connections with North America, which is seen as important for economic links. But there's been no schedule transatlantic flights from Belfast since Norwegian Air cut its routes to the US in 2018, only flights to North American holiday destinations.
This is farcical. Our Assembly uses public money to subsidise those who can afford North American holidays (21,000 from Belfast last year) while the same amount is knocked off NI's Block Grant every year. Surely the Assembly could be spending this money better.
27.10.2025 08:25 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm not a journalist but I'm pretty sure most people would expect this story to be framed more accurately with a headline something like "Reagan did not love tariffs as Trump erroneously claims".

18.10.2025 10:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Can we please get some perspective. If Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters were banned because of a risk to them it would absolutely be anti-semitism. When they are banned because they have a track record of causing violence it is just common sense. Preventing football hooliganism is normally a good idea.

A) 100% - Β£650k

C) 10% - Β£65k
D) 0% - zero

Maccabi fanbase incl a hardcore racist hooligan faction
U.K. policing has been substantially under-resourced for years
PMs & Home Secs should stay out of operational decisions made by police forces
