Even though it was written in the 80’s, the writing still feels modern. Her writing is very captivating.

The writing is so beautiful yet terrifying in how many of the circumstances mirror our current world all these years after it was written. It’s terrifying thinking some revolt or uprising can quite literally happen and change things so quickly.

I also didnt know there was a movie adaptation! I actually wont even mind how different they are because honestly I like when screen adaptations can make the story their own while still honoring the source

#ReadingUpdate first read of 2025 is going to be Handmaid’s Tale! I watched most of the Hulu adaptation and have cried many tears but I just knew I needed to read its source material. Just from the introduction in my copy of the books I can tell I will enjoy the author’s writing style.

This book topped my expectations and preconceived notions that I had from having seen the movie first. The psychological horror of it and a lot of it being truly what women fear makes this a Grade A horror novel

It had all the elements of suspense for a great thriller, repetitive at times because of it being in the woman’s perspective that lost her memory but I still liked it.
