Trump’s White House is offering million-dollar donors special access to the President and official events — this time America’s 250th birthday.

This latest pay-to-play arrangement undercuts already crumbling public trust.

There shouldn't be any takers for this bet. Senator Whitehouse is a former prosecutor at both state and federal levels -- US Attorney for RI and its Attorney General.

Not every issue in our politics needs to be shirts and skins. Republicans don’t need to automatically be against everything Democrats stand for. We could decide together that no president should ever arrest a political opponent for free speech.

Based on my reading of most of the back-and-forth re: Wurman, the contention appeared to be that Wurman knew his amicus brief contained misrepresentation(s) and/or inaccurate material.

As an aside, I noted being surprised that so few pro-Respondents amicus briefs (2) had been filed, and wondered why Respondents had chosen *not* to file a brief in opposition to the brief Petitioners had filed *after* cert. had been granted.

I raised the question: Does an attorney (academic or not) who filed their brief with a court have a legal/ethical obligation to inform that court upon learning that their brief
contained inaccurate information?

I didn't read the briefs (except Resp. 10/29 Brief in Oppo.). Notably, Trump's 9/26 Pet. for Cert. and 1/20 Brief *both* cite Wurman (T's 11/6 Reply Brief doesn't). The following amicus briefs also cited Wurman: 2/2 and 1/19 Kirkwood Institute; 1/27 Tennessee; 1/23 Sen. Eric Schmitt.

Earlier this month, I checked the docket entries for the birthright case (Dkt. 25-365) scheduled for OA before SCOTUS on 4/1. I looked at the Table of Authorities of *every* brief filed (amicus & otherwise) to see which ones cited Wurman.

Yes, and that's probably what is typically done now, but I don't believe that was done back then. Mom certainly didn't know -- she was saddened both by the movie and by our sadness. She loved animals.

The reference to Old Yeller brings back a really sad memory from my childhood. My mother took my sister and me to see that movie (who knew the ending would be what it was).

Loved the Judge's citing Bob Dylan (bet the J was thrilled when Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature). My fav: "Horse feathers!" And the J's naval pun at the end: "...will in some small way help bring about a course correction...."

I hate to mention this but...there seem to be 'low info' folks across the entire political spectrum.

I've been following this case from the beginning -- a Saturday in March, 2025. Judge Boasberg is stellar. He's also a former prosecutor, so this isn't his first rodeo.

In Rand Paul's ICE oversight hearing this AM, Todd Lyons testified that sometimes ICE gets involved w/voter fraud but that he sees no need for ICE to "surround" voting polls. So, T's answer ('the Obama video was voter fraud') appears to be T's "justification" for ICE to surround polls.
