The song itself is a banger, though.

How much does Owens Corning pay MGM every year to use the Pink Panther as their mascot?
Like it's pretty crazy that I associate this character more with insulation foam than an 11 entry movie series and multiple TV shows.

It’s climate change for posting.

The engagement is better / more meaningful on Bluesky today than on Twitter by the time I had left. I don't anticipate that circumstance has improved at all. The remaining value Twitter had for me professionally was destroyed after verification was broken, and I won't pay for an icon I had for free.
06.08.2025 18:03 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I've been writing less on quantum since moving here, which sort of limited the opportunity relative to that audience. I'm hoping for a bit more interaction when the book (well, it's 25 pages or so) is finished with the editors, as that topic is also a bit more consumer-facing than enterprise.
06.08.2025 18:03 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Yes and no. It's a bit of a mix—the quantum computing community sort of resettled here and on Discord, the semiconductor community is something of a mix of Twitter, Bluesky, Discord and old-school web forums.
Sometimes it lands, sometimes it doesn't.

The type of engagement-bait 'Here's a position, debate me.' isn't algorithmically rewarded here, and that's a very uh... early 2010s, but also very analyst-y thing to do.
LinkedIn, Facebook, etc., all require different communication styles, and BlueSky is in the process of figuring itself out.
Perhaps the easiest way to phrase it is that you can't post like it's Field of Dreams and anticipate engagement. It takes a bit of replying to others, repost/quote-post, and getting a little off-brand (which you should do, from a personal account) to really get a 'community'.

I was verified on Twitter pre-Elon, but my employer prohibited discussion of work on social media (long story), so I never really attempted fame chasing, but definitely bothered brands by asking asinine half-funny questions, and they’d reply, because blue check.
