It was really enriching for me, even if scary. (I was also permanently sleep-deprived back then: two small children as well as a new job.) We've been so lucky with our students in Durham History: you've all taught me so much. (I even quite miss BWS these days - papal Top 10 and all.)

I lived in terror of those BWS seminars in my early Durham days! Late-medieval was my thing, but hey, I was a 'medievalist', so I obviously also knew about Visigoths, wergild, etc. We junior lecturers just did as we were told when it came to teaching back then. Built character, I'm sure.
