An intersection of pink fluffy cute things and the dark underbelly of Nihilism, Existentialism, and political despair. Oh, I'm also a gaming feminist.

09.11.2025 23:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A print that says, "Imagine Sisyphus Happy" on white paper in large sans serif font. The font is in an ombre from red to blue. Unexpectedly, the middle of the ombre became muddled. The print is on a wood table with yellow roses.
Picture two different types of printing press in the art center. I do not know what types of printing press they are. One is black and uses a large plate. The other is silver and uses a cylinder that the paper rolls on. This is the one that was used during the class.
Picture of the wooden letters arranged with the furniture and leading spelling out Imagine Sisyphus Happy backwards to prepare for printing.
Picture of the letter press with the letter blocks prepared for printing. The roller is already inked with red to blue and the letters have also already been inked.
I took a letterpress class at my local arts center. I love typography and the tactile feel of moving the letters and building out the furniture was really lovely.

01.11.2025 04:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This works the same mechanistically as blackness/whiteness, citizen/non-citizen, etc. I am not implying that this treatment or policy makes it harder or as hard as the minority out-group being defined, just explaining the inevitable constriction of rights.
31.10.2025 20:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So, you have cis women and girls being forced into unnecessary genital checks (a form of sexual assault) or cis women being told they aren't women because they naturally produce too much testosterone, or being banned from playing in sports.
31.10.2025 20:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For example, when we revoke the rights of Trans people, inevitably we have to define who is trans and conversely who is not trans. This defining then ends up hurting cis women and cis men who do not look or fit into the social standard of how a woman or man should appear.
31.10.2025 20:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This is just another example of how revoking a group's rights will always lead to the revocation of the majority's rights. The creation of a legal out-group, inevitably means that out-group must be defined and in that definition the in-group gets defined.
31.10.2025 20:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Therefore, fear of robots is fear of capital and fear of the cruelty of corporations. Fearing immigrants is a way that capital manipulates people into fearing and demonizing a group of people so capital and corporations can evade responsibility for exploitation and oppression. These are different.
03.07.2025 02:14 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We do not think robots will take our jobs or destroy us because robots are evil. We think robots will take our jobs and destroy us because we know that corporations are evil. Tech industries are beholden to capital and shareholders and often push technologies without concern for consequence.
