I've been wanting to go bigger with my paintings, and this was the largest yet! 18x24 inches, which required a collection of 45 images composited together to digitize it. I'm including my progress photos for this painting as well, which I've titled "Angelic Reception." #artwork #painting

I went back to my comfort zone: koi fish. I will potentially make this design into a woodblock print, but I wanted to see how it looks as a painting first. I'm also experimenting with progress collages, so let me know if you find it interesting! #artwork #painting

I was planning to make a chickadee linocut print and did a bunch of sketches in preparation, but in the end I never got around to starting the carving. I would still like to do that, eventually, but I'm rather slow 😅

I'm really happy with how this print turned out! I honestly love the challenge of carving letters the small detail lines on the deer were similarly fun to carve. I was eager to make a print for Mother's Day for this year and I'm glad to have technically achieved that goal.

There was a kitten camping out on my bird feeder at the start of the winter and I assumed she belonged to a neighbor...until I got video on my feeder cam of her eating bird seed. So, I set traps and converted her into a pet.

Over the weekend I finished making my print for Mother's Day, and I'm happy to finally be able to post the finished image. There are some prints available online if you'd like one. Thanks for checking it out!

A hiking backpack with a large cow skull wrapped in plastic and strapped to the outside of the backpack.

Went out to enjoy the better weather and came across a skull in quite good condition, but it was too big to fit into... well, anything. So, I strapped it onto the outside of my pack and hauled it around for several miles until I got back to my car.

The American kestrel (sparrowhawk) isn't the only bird that hovers in place in midair, but it's the most striking to see. During the summer it's common to look up and see a kestrel hovering overhead, watching for any tasty mice or grasshoppers moving about. #linocut #printmaking

The last of my fish sticker mini-series: the Asian arowana! These fish are endangered and highly prized as aquarium fish but are illegal in the US. But you can legally own stickers of them, so... at least there's that! #FishArt #StickerArt

I decided to scrap my first composition for a ptarmigan print and start over, so this is the first block of my ptarmigan print... version 2! I have a couple more blocks to carve before this will be done, so hopefully I can get those done soon. #linocut #printmaking #art
