I sometimes wonder at what point the US broke. Was it when a Presidential election loser orchestrated a failed insurrection and was never held to account? Or was it every time following a massacre, when they chose to protect their guns and not their children?

On Monday night, Cory Booker took the Senate floor and declared his intention to disrupt "the normal business of the Senate for as long as I can," emphasizing his conviction that "our nation is in crisis."

He meant every word.
