Stoked to receive the Ecological Society of Australia’s Holsworth Wildlife Research Endowment, allowing me to send ~300 fallow deer teeth to a commercial lab to determine their age by cementum annuli analysis, rather than spending months doing it myself! Bring on the data!

Congratulations to outgoing CEO Dr Andrew Cox on 12 successful years at the helm of the Invasive Species Council. Amongst so many causes you’ve championed, your work to change the tide against feral horse protection in our alpine areas is a truly remarkable success.

Great fun working with my colleagues from the Global Ecology Lab and Biosecurity SA teaching 3rd year Biodiversity and Conservation students about the whys and hows of invasive species management. Heartening to see the students not turned off but the ‘dark side’ of conservation.
