idk about lqg, but with sj even though i see him mostly as an exclusive bottom, in his dynamic with lqg i imagine him as the top dhdjdj

this did get me through the first wall i had in the game where i couldn’t even finish the first quest dhdjdj saw someone rec a build with the horn mutation and horn alone got me sooooo far

i guess i should look up some guides about bethesda susa, bc that’s where i keep getting stuck no matter what

and then it’s like “ok i fucked up the build, better start over” but then there’s a sunk cost fallacy feel that makes starting over feel bad, which isn’t usually the case with roguelikes where i’m just dying and trying again all the time? so i get caught in an awkward spot dhdjdjd

I KNOWWWW but sometimes it’s like

one time i was playing without permadeath, but id chosen then evil twin flaw, and at first it was fine, then i got to the point where no matter how many times i retried i just struggled against the evil twin too much and couldn’t progress

but then i feel like i wasted the time i was trying to grind levels to see if i could push my way through ^^; its like im caught between playing it as a grindy rpg vs pure roguelike

i tried playing in role play so i could save at checkpoints, but often eventually get at a state where it’s a pain in the ass to keep going bc i put myself in a situation where ill still die every time even if i restart from checkpoint, and a fresh start seems better

3. playing the random starting village mode for a more pure roguelike experience (?) makes me feel guilty for not having finished main story yet (reaching the story mode’s starter village and finding it in ruins makes me so sad…)

i got so addicted to caves of qud for a few months

but i have a hard time of it eventually bc
1. i suck at it too much to finish the main quest without dying
2. redoing the main quest every time i die gets repetitive

jazz is a genre i generally have a hard time getting into, idk what makes the difference but i feel there’s only a few specific instances of jazzy songs i truly enjoy along with their jazziness and not in spite of it

but… when an electropop song has some jazzy piano interlude… that’s the SHIT
