Like so many others, I send gratitude for your work on behalf of the American people. Your firing is another step down the ladder into the pit of dysfunction 47 and the R's have created.

The Republican attack on truth continues. Don't like the reality of climate change? Eliminate the finding it causes human health harm. Don't like the jobs numbers? Fire the civil servant who prepares them. This is the way to keep us in the dark and drunk on misinformation.

I still can not believe this is the world we live in today. Trump and R's literally want to burn down and drown the world so a handful of fossil fuel companies can keep cashing checks. Where are the D's, where is the pushback? This nightmare continues until we learn to fight harder and smarter.

I imagine most of us have felt a similar despair. And still we get up the next day and do what we can to tilt a crazy world towards sanity. I feel like I am watching a dystopian novel being written every day on the front page of the papers--but I refuse to let the deniers write the final chapter...

It used to be said that sex sells, these days it more like lies, conspiracies, and hate outsell everything. Bloggers, bloviators, and headline writers have only one job--grab and hold our eyeballs. When ICE is masked and the rest of us are not we simple give them permission to be unaccountable vigilantes. It is clear that Trump is not interested in law and order as much as command and control. He wants to break us. It will never happen.

We all want our health care system to work better. This bill did noting to promote that. It puts millions at risk of losing coverage so big tax breaks can go to people who do not need them. The truth is we need our elected representative to actually represent us, our kids, and our grandkids.

I could not agree more. As a life-long Dem, I have never felt our party to be weaker or more lost. We desperately need real vision, leadership, and a dedication to service over self-interest. Show us you care more about our collective future than your reelection.

Fair enough. I just hope there is room here on Bluesky and in our movement for different perspectives and approaches. Nature thrives on diversity and so to, I think, do political movements.

I definitely get it. I just wonder what line we should be holding? The more we focus on Trump the person, the more we feed his and MAGAs sense of persecution. That in turn causes them to dig in harder. My gut says Americans are want someone to stand & deliver what they voted for--jobs, lower prices.

I have a different take. Impeachment efforts that can not result in actual removal from office are just fuel for the MAGA fire. They are performative in a way that reinforces the Dems do not have a real plan. I'd rather have all the Dems stand up and declare what they stand for and fight for that.

I stand with my daughters and women everywhere to say that the Government of the United States has no business telling women about their bodies. This terrible decision turned back the clock by 100 years and makes it clear just how much work we have to do to repair the damage of Dobbs.

100% agree. It is also putting the focus in the wrong place. Trump is awful, but his policies and actions are destroying America. Let's draw a bright line between America under Trump and America protected, educated, employed, and moving forward under Democrats v2.

No question about it. But we can not change that past. All we can do is rally the millions of Americans who know we are on the wrong path. America is in pain. Time for us to offer a clearly different prescription to MAGA. Democratic Party v2.

How many Americans have a loved one who is experiencing dementia? Millions. How many know how poorly Trump/RFK Jr. understand or value the research needed to stop this tragic condition? Hundreds? We need powerful voices to stand up and say that a strong America protects and cares for its own.

Calling for impeachment is just fuel for the MAGA fire as this BS Trump post shows. It is an impotent threat since it is impossible with the entire Republican party prostrate at his feet. I'd rather see us galvanize the majority of Americans through inspiration and being a real alternative.

Posts like this make me wish Bluesky had a downvote option. I have great respect for the journey you have travelled Rep. Jeffries, but the moment we live in calls for so much more from the people we are counting on to lead us out of this madness. Stop blaming the R's and tell us what the D's will do

This feels unquestionable true. So where are the Dems? Where is the counter platform that addresses the fears we have? We are chasing Trump from one fire to the next instead of building a compelling alternative. We need leaders to unify us around our need for security--economic, social, & global.

Unfortunately the Iran War will not blow up in Trump's face, but in the faces of innocent children & their families in the Middle East, in American casualties of the inevitable counter attack, & in our collective confidence in our democracy and its leaders. Where have all the voices of sanity gone?

I do not like criticizing the Dems, but clearly Schumer and senate leadership with some notable exceptions are simply not up to the crisis of this moment. Somehow they think this is still politics as usual, as if it is everyday that a US Senator is accosted and handcuffed by masked officers. Shame.

By consistently putting our personal needs, interests, and preferences before everything else. Do that long enough and you create a Trump. We have a lot of work to do to reclaim our basic humanity.

This is more than a platitude. To lead a nation out of Trump hell is going to take the ability to inspire people. Will we be like Trump and base that inspiration on fear and hate? Or will we take the road of compassion and connection? To take that steeper road will take a ton lot of selfless love.

I would take more comfort in this if I felt the Democrats were ready to stand up and present a new vision for the future of the Country. Let's go Dems. Put aside the past and take advantage of this moment to forge something better.
