It is not a threat.
It is an inalienable right of the Palestinian people.
Our demands on this shameful government remain the same: end all arms sales to Israel, impose widespread sanctions, and stop the genocide, now.

Text: Growing up witnessing and experiencing injustice shaped my to who I am now. I realise that injustice does not exist within neat boxes with clearly defined edges, but instead it intersects and overlaps. I use my privilege to protest, be out with my community, and care for them when we go home at the end of it all. I continue to see injustice in the world and I cannot back down or look away from it. Instead, we come together, I take up my role with my community and continue to be shaped by the life I experience.

How can we understand our calling through vocation? With Soph Day, PhD student and Higher Education Academic at York St John University
Text: 'There is a huge scope of what vocations you can follow that align with your interests. Seek out opportunities in the area you care about and carve that role to fit your interests. Do not be fearful of trying new things and changing roles, you will find one that suits you best. Always stick by your gifts and never let anyone tell you 'you can't'.'

She is looking downwards with her hand raised to her head and appears concerned. Above her head is a grey cloud. Text: Trauma Theology and Pastoral Care
This page has the same background as the first. In the centre, there is an image of lined paper. On this paper is the following text. Text: Trauma theology can re-shape how we understand pastoral support and the way in which we offer pastoral care. By challenging approaches that focus on forgiveness, solutions, or understanding trauma and suffering as redemptive, trauma theology centres the experiences of trauma survivors. It fosters pastoral practice that is rooted in empathy, safety, and presence. By focusing on listening without judgement, validating experiences, and not offering theological explanations that minimise suffering, people who have experienced trauma are less likely to feel silences. All pages have a dark purple background and white text. In the centre of this page, there is an illustration of a refugee family. They are all carrying oversized bags. Text: Refugees and not the problem. Misinformation about them is.
Text: Why is there misinformation about refugees? In the UK, misinformation about refugees is common. We can find it on social media, in comments sections, and in conversations with people we may know. Refugees are often blamed for economic insecurity, social divisions, and rising crime rates. This sensationalism leads to vast misinformation and hostility towards refugees. Here are some of the common misconceptions about refugees and asylum seekers, and the facts you need to challenge hostility.
Text: Refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants are all the same. A refugee is someone who has been forced to flee their home due to conflict, persecution, and violence. They are unable to return home until there is change in their home country. An asylum seeker is someone who is seeking international protection from danger in their home country, but hasnβt yet been given refugee status in the country they wish to stay in. Not all asylum seekers will be recognised as refugees. A migrant describes someone who has left their home and has moved elsewhere, either within or outside of their home country.
Text: Asylum seekers live in luxury hotels and can go where they want. Asylum seekers in the UK do not have a choice of what or where their accommodation is. A majority of accommodation is in the north west, midlands, and south west of England. A mixture of hotels, accommodation centres, and former military barracks are used as accommodation for asylum seekers. These places are often overcrowded and unsanitary. There is a lack of health care and adequate food provisions. Children also lack access to education.
πRefugees are not the problem; misinformation about them is.
Refugee Week was established in 1998 in the UK, and always revolves around World Refugee Day, 20th June. This year's theme is 'Community as a Superpower', highlighting the importance of community for everyone.
