09.08.2025 14:09 — 👍 2083 🔁 1006 💬 386 📌 178Today's ride is brought to you by the letters O, C, and D, and takes me to 105 miles for the week! A personal best I'm unlikely to beat anytime soon. Also worked out a better route for riding front door to front door. Will come in handy trying to squeeze in miles while working.
09.08.2025 14:23 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Actually 94.4 miles for the week. Math is hard.
08.08.2025 22:23 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Today's ride was unplanned (my AM was occupied by having 15 vials of blood drawn at the clinic in Duncansville), but it takes me to 93.4 miles for the week. New personal best. No wrecks, but managed to gouge my shin pretty well w/my pedal pins while putting the bike on the rack!

2/2. That's what forced me to lay it down to avoid going head first into the gravel pile in the second pic. I will say, he was out of the cab in a flash to check on me!

07.08.2025 17:23 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Today's ride takes me to 73.6 miles for the week. Yes, I picked up a little more road rash (on the other knee), but that's on the backhoe that reversed (nearly) into me right after pulling out of my way. I could either lay it down or crash into a 3-4ft tall pile of gravel!

06.08.2025 23:55 — 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Today's ride was supposed to be another 30, but I managed to find a completely different patch of loose gravel about 2 miles in, turning my left knee into a reasonable approximation of hamburger. That stuff is like ball bearings. Over 50 miles for the week and plenty of good weather ahead.

Today's ride, which was interrupted twice with calls from the doctor's office regarding some recent labs and an incoming MRI, takes me to 550 miles since I bought the bike. I'll share what's going on medically once we know more.

"Going Into Earnings, Is Eli Lilly Stock a Buy, a Sell, or Fairly Valued?" Seems like a good analysis, but I find it strange that Retatrutide didn't get a single mention.

Now it looks like Colbert may not even make it to the end of the series next year, as, according to journalist Rob Shuter, there have been words had with Colbert, and they have come “very close” to pulling him off-air. After reportedly calling a emergency meeting the morning after Cobert’s show aired, two senior executives reportedly said: “He's daring us to fire him. And honestly? We’re close to doing it. He’s been warned. What he said was unacceptable. There are real consequences this time.”
Supposedly after pretending it was about money they're just openly talking in meetings about how they'll trash contracts and fire comedians for the absolutely unprescedented act of... making fun of the president on a late night talk show.
Dictator shit.
Patients on GLP-1RAs were associated with lower incidence of heart failure exacerbation events (HR 0.60, 95% CI 0.58-0.62, p<0.001) and all-cause emergency room visits or hospitalizations (HR, 0.67, 95% CI 0.66–0.69; P < .001) compared with those not on GLP-1RAs.

In the Grand Rounds lecture I'm building on GLP 1 meds and diabetes care I have two slides worth of data slamming sulfonylureas. No need to prescribe them in the era of GLP1 and SGLT2i meds.
Also GLP1 + glipizide together ⏫ risk of hypoglycemia!
