I think you should force yourself to interact with art that's "bad" every so often. read a cringy fanfic. play a tiny game. watch a subpar movie. see an amateur play. experience art that's not "masterpieces" because "bad" art deserves to exist and can sometimes give you more emotion than "good" art

Maybe I’m a creature in need of reassurance because I am a being who constantly subconsciously thinks “I could do better if I apply myself in this very specific way” but then the brain struggles to meet that unreasonable goal it makes for myself
