The price of productivity is being given even more things to do with less time to finish them.

Maybe use alternative objective methods that emphasize critical thinking over rote memorization, highfalutin articulate-sounding gobbledygook, or skillful AI prompts.

Maybe it goes back to an issue long relevant but overlooked, back when latin honors were a rare thing. Maybe we are using the wrong tools to measure how much students learned.

Maybe they had the benefit of teachers more aware of mental health and emphasis on learning? Maybe the grading systems needed to keep up with recent advancements, failing to discern the outlier performers from the average and below average?

Offspring of this thought process, is a question: why so upset about many graduates with latin honors after pandemic?

Solomonic take on the latin honors issue: performance on written examination that are mostly recall with little application or analytical questions do not reflect the students' capabilities; as stated before, it's not about the grades.

no surprise why things are the way they are. symbiotic relationship sustains the status quo, despite what good intentions we have or whatever efforts we do.

saw for myself, they're real. there are the transactional people who use helpful people, take advantage of kindness, and try to get as much as they can from politicians.

Never, ever, at any circumstance, defeat yourself, on behalf of your enemies. Never give them that satisfaction that you willingly fell on your face.

The reason why the pre election surveys seem to predict election outcomes, is that people use surveys to sway how they vote. Vote who you want to vote, not some names that sound familiar. Notoriety and popularity are what wins elections. Maiba naman sana (repeat every elections).

I have a gift for the internet, something you would want to say politely to someone. "You know your intelligence is just barely surpassed by AI." AI meaning an i__ot.

My students are now consultants, and my teachers are now adding to the ranks of the professor emirit. Where did the time go?

I still saw him outside the hospital a few months ago, he looked thin but still had the chill and cheerful demeanor. He told me his mom was doing well 3 years after her stroke. But now, he's gone. Rest in peace sir.

That doctor would be one of those random nice doctors that Inspired me to aspire to be just like he was.Fast forward to a few years ago, he referred to me his mom to take care of, He was humble and truly grateful to me for taking care of her, despite his senior consultant stature

Saddened by the passing of one of the nicer doctors I've known since med school. To a med student terrified of consultants and residents , this doctor was unusually chill and knew how to joke to liven the mood.

Sometimes I feel like the zombie apocalypse already happened after all the nuclear bombings and testings, and that we're just zombies that evolved a bare minimum sentience and act like lemmings every few decades.

"Examiner": "Ulitin ko po." (Hits tuning fork louder and places on patient's head)
"May naririnig po ba kayo?" (Do you hear any sound?)
"Patient": hmmmm (louder high pitched humning sound)

Scenario: first year students simulating patient and examiner

The test: Weber test using vibrating tuning fork placed on top of the head (vertex)

"Examiner": "May naririnig po ba kayo?" (Do you hear any sound?)

"Patient": hmmmm

Mind mapping for OS 202 completed. The proof of the learning is in the doing. It's not enough to just know, stuff about the brain. Struggles aside, the medical students may yet save someone's life someday.

Getting buried under an avalanche of paperworks and procedures can throw the learners off track and only dehumanizes the would be healthcare professional. A balance must be struck. When this happens in healthcare education, let me know.

Making a human connection with patients has been shown to be protective against burnout in healthcare professionals. Seeing patients only during shifts, never to be seen again, won't help develop these connections.
