I feel like this is the only safe place I can say this. After Malkin dusting McDavid and the Pens thrashing the Oilers: Connor McDavid is not the best player in the world. In fact, he's actually kind of bad at the team sport.

Speed and technical skill don't matter if you can't play with your team.

I just started working as a bookseller in an indie store about three months ago, but from what I'm learning this is true!

We don't buy huge back stock (unless it's like Sarah J. Maas popular). But, we definitely notice when the stock we do buy leaves the shelf and we always fill it back in.

Aspiring authors: I cannot recommend joining a writing group enough. I have gotten to read so many styles and genre I wouldn't normally, and I have gotten incredible feedback that has absolutely made me a better storyteller.

Plus, it keeps me accountable to putting words on the page.

I was suddenly reminded about the absolute worst class I ever had to take in my 14 years of philosophy training.

That single class almost convinced me to drop out of grad school all together in just my first year.

I took an entire class on that book in grad school and still have no idea what he was on about.

Could be way off and would need more context, but my immediate guess is that it's talking about Psychoanalysis' inability to accurately observe its object.

A sort of "thing observed from within itself can't escape certain preconceived notions or biases."
