What was your first real instrument? Not counting toy guitars or pots and pans. Mine was an OLP 5-string bass that I got from a family friend in probably 2008. Fun fact, it never had an output jack, the whole time I had it. I never once got to hear it plugged in.

For the record, trans people are amazing. The fact that they exist does nothing to harm anyone else. I have absolutely nothing but respect for those who live life on their terms. This world can try to beat us down and kill us for many reasons. I know because I’m disabled and fighting every day.

It's depressing as hell, but I do think anti-AI communities will become stronger and stronger. The one that comes to mind first is @ampwall.com's official Discord server. Full of artists who hate AI and support each other and the underground in general.

For me it’s the augmented bass and barely-there guitar tones. A lot of these mixes use a synth bass or subharmonic generator and it sounds like shit. And the guitar tones are so aggressively EQ’d that there’s not much left. And of course, the hard Autotune.

Every top mastering engineer eventually gets their own personal "mojo box" made with one boutique hardware manufacturer or another. It may never happen for me, but best believe I think about what mine would be 😂

Anyone who knows me well knows I am a huge mastering nerd. The most boring part of making music to some, but a trove of autistic-hyper-fixation-worthy sorcery to me. It just makes me happy, taking something further past the finish line than originally thought possible.

I was one of those sensitive kids who would cry when an adult made fun of me. And you know what? I still vividly remember how humiliating those encounters were. And I remember seeing it happen to other kids and feeling gross then too. It’s a betraying feeling.
