And I don’t see why Betty would need to be in the season at all. I’m not too worried about this happening given that this season will focus on Fionna World and Huntress Wizard, neither of which have much to do with Betty, but thought it was worth mentioning regardless

7: Leave Simon and Betty in the past

Simon and Betty are my two favorite fictional characters of all time. But their story is over. Simon got his closure with Betty. There’s nothing more they really need. Simon can still be in season 2 in a supporting role but I think it overall arc is complete (+)

By acknowledging that what Jay did was wrong. Confirm that Farmworld Finn is alive and that Jay didn’t just leave his orphan siblings and have Jay talk to his dad. Maybe have it so Jay can travel between Farmworld and Fionna World whenever he likes? Or just bring him back to Farmworld. Either way

6: Adress Jay abandoning his family

What they do with Jay and Little Destiny in Cheers is easily the worst aspect of season 1. It was a baffling decision to have Jay and LD move to Fionna World that kinda destroys the theme of the season. Thankfully, season 2 has the chance to remedy this (+)

5: Resolve the Prismo glitch

This is probably the biggest lose thread at the end of season 1. This weird shot of Prismo glitching out. I really hope season 2 addresses it and follows up on it. Maybe his glitch ends up effecting Fionna World in some way?

But I think just an episode where either Fionna and Cake come back to Ooo or Finn goes to Fionna World and they have an adventure could be very fun

4: Finn and Fionna team up

Speaking of Finn, it’s very likely he’ll be a appearing this season more than he did in season 1 considering that HW is a much more Finn centric character than Simon, so why not have him finally meet Fionna? He doesn’t need to tag along for the whole season, (+)

3: Confirm Finn and Huntress Wizard

I mean… why not, right? I always liked how casual Finn and HW’s relationship was, but it’s been over 12 years since Flute Spell, why not make them official?

To give us some slice of life stories to contrast the crazy multiverse adventures. I’m just not sure if this relatively normal city can carry an entire season, but hopefully the show can prove me wrong

This setting interesting enough to sustain 10 whole episodes. I like Fionna World, it’s fun pointing out the human genderswapped Ooo counterparts in season 1 but that can only take the show so far. Season 1 had a couple of Fionna World subplots with Marshall and Gary, but those were only used (+)

2: Make me care about Fionna World

It was announced at Annecy this year that season 2 will be less multiverse-focused and instead be primarily set in Fionna World. This is partially good as it means the show likely won’t backtrack Fionna’s arc in season 1, but I worry it’ll be hard to make (+)

I want this season to give us a reason why Huntress Wizard is crossing over with Fionna and Cake. What does Fionna add to HW’s story and what does HW add to Fionna’s?

Unlike Simon, HW doesn’t have much of a connection to Fionna and Cake. I worry sometimes that, even if the stuff they give Huntress Wizard is good, that she’ll feel a little shoehorned into the season. I don’t wanna watch this season wishing that it was just an HW in Ooo miniseries (+).

1: Justify Huntress Wizard as a main character

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very excited to get more Huntress Wizard. She’s a very fun character who was just introduced too late in the original series for the show to fully explore. But I have mixed thoughts on her as this seasons Simon stand in (+).

With our first look at Fionna and Cake season 2 coming in just a couple months, here’s a thread of my hopes and wishes for the upcoming season. If these things don’t happen in season 2 I will pee myself and cry!

If it were up to me, I’d greenlight the movie so Muto can put as much of his efforts into that as possible, then an Ooo 1000+ series that lasts 3-6 seasons. I don’t really feel like we need more Fionna and Cake
