Photo showing a flower garden in a city park. The view is dominated by hanging willow branches in the foreground. Also in the foreground, is lined channel containing the Mutton Brook (which is out of sight). In the centre of the image, a dustbin guards a metalled path, and behind the path are shrubs, flowers and trees in a range of colours. We can only see a tiny piece of sky between the willow branches but it is blue with some clouds.

Photo showing a canal lock in an urban area. There are railings on both sides of the lock, and low rise houses beyond, with trees dotted about, and some cars parked beside the road to our left. The sky is pale blue, and a darker version of it is reflected in the calm canal water.

Photo showing a dirt track through the woods. The path ahead is fairly narrow, and sloping gently downwards. Lush green plants and trees line the path closely. We see a glimpse of the cloudy sky through the canopy.

We would thoroughly recommend taking in part of the River Crane - not only a lovely walk in itself, but you can tick off a section of the London Loop!

Photo showing a lake, surrounded by trees in full green leaf. Near the centre is a jet fountain beside a large weeping willow. The lake water is rippled creating highly indistinct reflections of the trees. Two slender tree trunks in the foreground frame the image on either side. The sky is blue with substantial white clouds.

One of the really simple things our volunteer team do to improve the #LondonLoop (and the other routes weโve adopted) is cleaning filthy waymark posts. This one at the start of Section 21 probably had 20 years of grime on it until Chris gave it a clean - and what an amazing difference heโs made!

Funnily enough we were talking about this at our project meeting the other day, and will give some thought to trying to get some sort of plaque or something - agree it would be really nice to have a spot for the photos at the end! Itโs a bit anticlimactic at the momentโฆ

Epic stint on the #LondonLoop yesterday, 16 miles from Chigwell to Havering-atte-Bower to Harold Wood to Upminster Bridge. Almost out of bandit country.
Getting busier out there too, even bumped into the same bloke twice. Londoner in Talking to Strangers shocker!

Walking the final stages of the #londonloop. Back by the Thames again, on the north bank near Rainham. Itโs a very different river here compared with when I last encountered it on this walk - crossing Kew Bridge! @ldnloop-capring.bsky.social

Good meeting of our project & section coordinators last night, focussed on planning our full volunteers meeting / get-together in May - & thinking about priorities. If anyone would like to get involved, particularly if you live in the direction of #LondonLoop sections 5 and 6, please let us know.
