A field with green grass and scraggy lavender, not at all in bloom and a lovely... er, lavender colour. There is a barren tree in the middle of the field, and a row of trees in the distance. There are no people visible.

Went to the Mayfield Lavender Field (so fieldy the named it twice!)

Surprised at the lack of Instagrammers and Tiktokers out today. I heard they love this place.

I completed the LOOP with a work colleague when I retired - one section a month. I did get a sense of achievement when completed. Since then I have only cherry-picked parts of the route.

When we started our project to update all the route guidance (and improve the waymarking etc) we had quite the debate about whether to go with the 15 or the 24!

After a longer than intended break, I ticked off Section 2 of the @ldnloop-capring.bsky.social this afternoon. A gorgeous but very muddy Autumnal ramble from Old Bexley to Petts Wood. Some absolutely stunning scenery, Five Points Bridge & the William Willet memorial sundial were the standouts.

Thanks to our local #CapitalRing volunteer and Friends of Horsenden Hill for their work to keep the route thru Paradise Fields, Greenford, open and dry via an ingenious “beaver deceiver”.

Our volunteers have worked with Croydon Council to get some new signage installed / replaced / fixed on Section 4 of the #LondonLoop - and to add waymark discs to new posts from our stocks.

Great to see these newly installed posts and signs in place making the route easier for everyone to follow.

Enfield Council has opened a new path between Rectory Farm Road & Hilly Fields, with signs along the river on Section 17 of the #LondonLoop. Our volunteers have rewalked Section 17 and we’ve published an adaptation to our route guidance.

It’s been a nice autumn day out on the #LondonLoop and Hogsmill River Walk from Ewell to Kingston today.

Great to have lunch on the Nicky Hopkins memorial bench on my walk from Richmond to Sudbury Hill. Must confess I don’t know all the tracks he played on here. London, you were beautiful today #capitalring

Pictures from the first part of day 3 walking the London Loop back in January. Started at Bexley on a frosty, low light kind of day. But it was a beautiful start to a walk which began alongside the River Cray.
