Nope, nothing about cancer in this book

Any recommendations for a book to read after? Haha ๐Ÿคฃ Iโ€™m struggling to move on to another fiction book but thinking I may look for historical fiction.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

Devoured The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue in a weekend- brought me to tears in last few chapters. Timeless questions of human nature explored in a way that felt fresh. I loved getting personal perspectives from main characters while playing with concepts of time, legacy, & love. #booksky

More backbone & resist in any way possible. Slowing things down is still valuable. It gives courts and Congress time to act and catch up with the deliberate chaos Trump and Musk are sowing. #resist Resist in any way you can!

After calling my senators and rep Monday, I was surprised to find that I felt better. Even though I still doubted it would make a difference. But it felt empowering to take any action. That led me to join the 50 state protests Wednesday. Even if all we do is empower congressional democrats to haveโ€ฆ

I told myself that public protests & calling politicians had very limited value since it couldnโ€™t result in change. This week Iโ€™ve changed my mind. This week I realized that mindset is part of ceding power- that there is a value in still protesting & doing all in our power to resist.

Since the election, Iโ€™d mostly felt sapped of power and motivation to react to political news. It felt so disheartening to realize that this time around people knew the truth and voted for a felon anyway. Thereโ€™s no excuse of thinking maybe he wonโ€™t be as bad as he โ€œjokesโ€.

Been lurking on Bsky but saw better vibes & community on Threads. However, given *all this* happening in US, figured curating community on less oligarch-dependent platforms is wise. So bringing the vibes I hope to find! ๐Ÿ™Œ encouraging adventure, women finding their voices, writers, poets, bookworms!

Whatโ€™s happening in the US isnโ€™t normal. When an unelected person has seized control of personnel and payment systems and is shuttering agencies, itโ€™s not an exaggeration to call it a coup. Do not go quietly. Do not obey in advance.
