01.12.2025 12:06 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I tend to feel like anyone spontaneously laughing, is doing so because they are laughing at me.
Best way I've found to get around it, is to remind myself that I'm here to make people smile and I managed to succeed without even trying.
So what you are saying is, that you gave people something to talk about, making their own ice breaking attempts easier?
Keep it up!
Oh yes, plenty of years to get it right.
But it is somewhat like coffee.
First it is just jet fuel in your veins.
Eventually it is something you need if you want to be even partially awake this day.
You'll want to get yourself into a solidly organized daily schedule at this point.
The meds have a diminishing effect over time.
I can do anything
I can do anything with my medication
I can do a lot if I'm medicated.
I can't do a thing without my medication.
Schedule things so it is a new norm.
sounds good. You can hit me up here or through the contact form on the blog site

Here is one without dev comments

and here is one with comments

And of course, if you don't want your game to be showcased like this, no hard feelings.
I understand that this is a project made with blood, sweat and tears, so it can be really hard to see people look at it from a perspective like mine and not be hurt by the attention.
The post will be going up on this site
electronicepileptic.wordpress.com/epileptic-tr...
and it will be used to help devs make great games without being running into the same health related minefield.
Having dev commentary explaining their process is really appreciated.
Constructive here means that I'll be taking the visual material you have provided, explaining the parts where I feel it beginning to provoke a seizure reaction and then commenting on what would need to be changed to remove that reaction.
No negative or detrimental statements intended or made.
Speaking of visibility, from a photo-sensitive epileptic perspective, your game is fascinating me.
There is a lot to learn, and even more to teach, from just the short video here.
I'd love to chat more with you, if you have the time to flesh out a constructive blog post with me.
Thank you for putting the photo-sensitivity warning up on this post.
Usually those warnings won't show up until after the game is bought, downloaded, installed and started.
Well well well. If it isn't the consequences of my own actions.
05.10.2025 08:53 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The people who get loudly angry about anything they don't like, are the only people who are posting instead of silently enjoying the game.
16.09.2025 20:44 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0you might also want to think about how long you can stand being around a bunch of people and being the center of attention.
If you expect that you'll need a 5 minute break in the middle just to scream into a pillow, let the organizer know about this beforehand.
Get yourself some comfort food a few hours before the talk and some even more comforting food for a few hours after the presentation. That gives you a good vibe for the whole day and it makes the presentation seem like a part of the day instead of the absolutely only thing that can happen that day.
09.09.2025 17:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Get in the mindset that there is only one other person in the room at any given time. That being the person you are directly addressing.
Once you talk to a different person, the first one has magically disappeared or is returned to the background extras.
So I'm half signal boosting this for a friend and half casting around for suggestions on what kind of accessibility requests we could throw their direction.

So far it is looking surprisingly photo-sensitive epilepsy friendly.
Well I suppose that depends on why you made the game in the first place.
Did you make a game that you wanted to make? Then yeah, it's worth it.
Did you make a game that you just hoped would be a source of money?
Then it might still be worth it, depending on where that experience leads you career.
I was thinking more in the line of neon signage. Or band names.

09.08.2025 06:49 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It looks great, yeah.
But man is it ever going to be illegible without a cheat sheet next to me.
At least in longer writings
The correct words are also not "E Fadre, Et Pili, Et spiritus sancti."
It is also frowned upon to start the sermon "heavenly father, you who should have known better."
Recent dream experience has shown me that you should not take the knowledge of me being able to make a DnD plot in 5 minutes, and twist that into giving me a five min warning before I have to baptize your son.
Also, it turns out that one does not baptize a child using honey, orange juice and milk.
Well it is still a step up from the days of opt out instead of our current opt in.

17.06.2025 20:17 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0So the good news is that I got another example to post about on the blog.
The bad news is that I ran into a seizure trigger bad enough to merit a post on my blog.

Oh well. Feels good to finally make an update at least.
That was either random coincidence, or some seriously dedicated foreshadowing.
Bit too on the nose after the first read though.
Go check out the Biotopia Demo.
Just plonking down blocks of terrain as you try to build the largest biomes.
Only limitation is the number of blocks you get per level. Gotta score enough points from making scenery in order to level up and access more biome types.
Turn based. Has un-do feature.
