He was probably the bubbliest of all the bubble cases. If he stays up when healthy, then I’ll change it.

Behold the actual Montreal Canadiens being the last zero MGL team in the league, finally allowing them to become the 131-point pace team they've been all along
Line chart showing game-by-game progression of total MGL to injury/illness over the NHL season, highlighting this season compared to the average of all seasons since 2000/01
NHL injury frequency through each team's first 3 games (and projected to 6 games) compared to the previous 24 seasons
An early spike, so number of players out at the Game 3 mark only surpassed by 21/22 (including a few Covid cases) and 22/23, though also comparing to mostly 30-team seasons here
And put me down for 13 November for when the LeBrun piece expressing concern about the impact of the “condensed schedule” gets published
16.10.2025 12:14 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0A close cousin to this is the “I have no evidence and no support for this... but doesn't it seem like injuries in the NHL are out of control?” genre
16.10.2025 12:12 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0In respect of [team that has announced injury or injuries this week], I can confirm that:
- They have had other injuries within the past 1-5 years
- It won’t ever end
- They aren’t the only team for which that is true
- It probably isn’t a sign that the medical and training staff need to be fired

With Lucas Raymond confirmed out for tonight’s game, looks like that will leave the Sharks* and Canadiens (!) as the last remaining zero MGL teams
*Given Afanasyev, Carlsson and Thompson all waived when healthy, though Canadiens fans will be counting Couture, Ellis and especially Price anyway
