Brind'Amour with a heartfelt summary of the 2006 events this week:

Brind'Amour said Svechnikov had "a great game" ... on the play on the Staal PPG: "Obviously he doesn't get the goal, but he's the reason we got it. He makes a great read. We talk about rotation, and then he rips it. You're not looking for another pass. So that's obviously the big goal in the game."

Brind'Amour on Bussi: "What I think we all like about him, he’s just very calm and he puts the work in, and nothing seems to faze him. And he’ll have bumps in the road. They're going to come, but hopefully not anytime soon."

"So, OK, he's our best one. And obviously, you need traffic, and he's our best one, our biggest dude. So those two things are usually what you talk about on power plays. So he's obviously done it great for a couple games."

Brind'Amour on Staal: "There's some skill set that he brings to that, and it's pretty clear what he does. And that's what power plays need, right? Every power play starts with the faceoff, every one that I've ever been around.

Brind'Amour on Bussi: "I think that's what goaltending's all about. You're supposed to make the ones you're supposed to make, make a couple that you're not supposed to make. But when you make them is, I think, real important."

Brind'Amour said he thought the whole game was good, despite getting behind: "That was a special night, obviously, with all the guys back, and I thought our guys performed really well."

I asked Jarvis how much the Team Canada stuff is on his mind: "Only every time you bring it up." 😂

Jarvis on Bussi: "He doesn't get shaken. ... Knowing we have a guy back there that makes timely saves and will bail us out when need be is huge."

Jarvis joked around a bit after I asked him about his goal being a worm-burner. Said a CBJ player got a stick on him that altered the shot, but, "I mean, I've been working out a little bit, so I'm a little stronger than I was last year."

"And they're they're consistent every night, and they don't always get rewarded. But like tonight, it came in a big time, scored a big goal for us."

Jarvis on Hall and Robinson: "They've been incredible. I think Robbie and Hallsy are two of our fastest forwards. So to have the luxury of having those guys on the fourth line and take advantage of their matchups has been huge for us.

Jarvis on Staal scoring a PPG in consecutive games: "He had the big body in front of the net. It's tough for the goalie to see. So he's been awesome. He's been winning draws for us, and then obviously he gets to the hoop. So he's been great for us."

Jarvis on Svechnikov setting up his goal: "Against a team that plays man-to-man, him using his body is huge for us. And I think you saw that on that goal and you saw that all night."

I asked Robinson how many posts he hit on his goal: "I don't know. I was happy to see it drop in."

Robinson on the go-ahead goal: "It's a good play by (Nystrom) standing up. Our D are so good at it every night, getting pucks up quick, and that's how many me and (Hall) want to play — play quick. He makes a nice play. "

Bussi on seeing the ’06 celebrations: "You see the highlights up there, and it makes you want to do that one day. You know, we like our locker room a lot. We have high aspirations."

"You know you need to be ready for the next save or moment because you never know what's going to happen."

Bussi: "You need to be comfortable in tight games. If you're asking, would I rather have a bigger lead? I would rather have a bigger lead. But no — as a goalie, you need to be comfortable if you're down three, up three, tie game, 1-1 or 5-5.
