ntfy.sh | Push notifications to your phone or desktop via PUT/POST ntfy is a simple HTTP-based pub-sub notification service. It allows you to send notifications to your phone or desktop via scripts from any computer, and/or using a REST API.

I do - I watched a video on this. He had voice notifications, OS notifications, and push notifications to his phone on the STOP hook. I’ll find it tomorrow if you haven’t already by then.

I do remember he used ntfy.sh for the phone notifications.

After I replied I checked again and I have 5 on the web now as well (didn’t have it 10 min ago).

Yes on the app, not on the web. Strange.

The speed at which you can whip up tools with Claude Code and something like a Laravel starter kit is insane.

For tools you usually don’t care too much about perfect code structure, so one argument against vibe coding is moot.

I usually set β€”dangerously-skip-permissions and let her fly!! πŸ›«

I love the movie Kingdom of Heaven.

I’d kept seeing the poor rotten tomatoes rating & hearing about how the director’s cut was so much better.

It’s SO much better. The theatrical version now seems like a very long trailer.

Prism Makes AI Feel Laravel Native. When it comes to bridging the gap between Laravel and AI's challenges, TJ Miller is leading the charge.

What an honor!

There’s a massive difference between looking at all the evidence and coming to a rational conclusion, and looking for the one piece of evidence that supports your (incorrect) theory.

I'm sad to say that since leaving Twitter/X my sales for live shows have dropped quite a lot - it turns out that even though it's a dreadful place it was still useful for getting the word out about events. So any shares / RTs of my posts about live shows are hugely appreciated!

Love it. Seriously - anything that saves expensive development time, but more importantly, prevents bugs.

Dev time is not just expensive, it’s the opportunity cost of what you could have created while manually writing code and debugging it.

Last night I started an experiment to help guide the next evolution of Prism's streaming output. Since I don't work with streaming output often I've struggled with finding abstractions that feel good. I figured building a chat interface would help me 'feel the pain' and guide me.

I’m South African. I used to think boycotting sports teams/players was unfair political victimization of individuals.

I was wrong. In the face of atrocities all pressure needs to be exerted. And sports people are celebrities with influence - they are not Joe Public with an opinion nobody hears.

The fact that I’ve been running the 20b model very well on my Mac today, and it’s scarily close the o4-mini, is mind blowing. 🀯

I’ve also been running the 20b on my Mac.

I asked what I thought was an obscure & niche question, β€œHow do Laravel migrations need to be modified to cater for MariaDB 10.0 (old version were stuck on).

The answer was detailed, accurate, and generated very quickly. Impressed!!

OpenAI released their long-promised open weight models today under clean Apache 2 licenses and with benchmarks that put them shockingly close to o3-mini and o4-mini

I've run the smaller (20B) model on my Mac and it's very impressive, despite only using ~15GB of RAM simonwillison.net/2025/Aug/5/g...

The two things I'm excited about the most are BOOST and PEST4.

PEST4's browser testing is going to be such a game changer!!

Yes, I was using Claude Sonnet and Opus in Cursor.

Claude Code uses the same models but there is other Anthropic magic in there (probably because they are insiders) that make Claude Code so much better. Trust me. πŸ˜‰

We were early Cursor adopters. Claude Code is much better, especially for code bases like yours.

Definitely worth a try. You won’t be disappointed.
