Oh I didn't think about tangled, thanks for reminding me! I think tangled is a fantastic initiative. It makes me happy that there are people that still start collective projects 👍 but still alpha... but maybe 😊 I'ts a contender for sure!

I think I'll just pay for a vps and use Forgejo.

I'm thinking like not based/located in, or owned by a company that is based in the US. Bitbucket is definately an alternative to consider for me.

I got a job w coding in eof 90's. Doing websites. So perl / html at first. Ftp'ing files to a testing server. If approved (by the boss), ftp'd to the prod server.

The script throttles requests, Laravel style, & uses cache-control headers on the server. There are limitations, a user may encounter status 429 if doing to many requests, & the counter may "stall" temporarily. So I don't really deal with it to be honest.
