Why yes, that is a blue-footed booby posing in the Galápagos Islands.

A bird perches on a cholla cactus, with its back toward the camera but with its head turned over its left shoulder. The overall impression is of a drab bird -- but that's how it blends in with the dull colors of the high desert. The beak is gray and somewhat conical, not unlike a finch's. The head, back, and visible part of the right flank are gray. The brown eye is surrounded by a white eye ring. The crest has a rufous tinge. The flight feathers, coverts, and folded tail are gray-brown. The undertail coverts are rufous. The cholla the bird is perched on has has lost its summer green; in fact, the cactus is slightly red-tinged from the cold. As a whole, the colors in the setting are as dull as the bird's plumage.
