There's a huge difference between wasting time and being effective.

Because there was nothing to gain for Harris except for the votes of two weirdo independents in Wyoming, while Mamdani was working to save NY from ICE.

Turning off "Smart Features" does not turn off spam filtering in free Gmail. Maybe it's different in paid Workplace accounts. I literally checked a couple of spam emails in the spam folder within the past few hours.

Lesson for Dems is to promote and support the next generation. Need more new ideas and energy!

Agree 100% and just posted that in another thread. Plus, whatever was just on the TV.

It shows once again that Trump is heavily influenced by who he last spoke to or what he just saw on TV. Things would be much better if we could somehow get a few rational people around him. Instead, he's constantly talking to the worst and the wicked.

For me the cloud version covers that. I once read of a guy who had to chop a hole to escape through his roof as the flood waters rose up, and then he was displaced hundreds of miles away. But bought himself a Chromebook and still had all his digital stuff safe and sound.

Yep, I went through the floppy era, the CD era, and now I'm wondering about getting rid of my hard drives and getting some SSDs. Still have many thousands of slides and negatives too!

I use the 3-2-1 backup rule on everything important, with one copy in the cloud and at least two copies at home on hard drives.

The idea that consumers can shop around for their healthcare is just absurd. Tell that to someone who lives in rural Vermont with maybe one hospital within 60 miles.

Ha! Try getting a straight quote from any healthcare provider for anything. They simply won't do it.

OK. One option for the future is Bitwarden password manager premium ($10 per year) that includes authenticator codes.

You signed in on both phones with the same Google account? I did this recently on two old phones to use as backups and all the codes were just there immediately.

Ask them to list what's in their fridges right now. If they don't know it's a bad sign.

Seems correct to me. When I think monopoly I think of companies that control a market. FB just one among many. Websters: "exclusive control of a particular market that is marked by the power to control prices and exclude competition"

The subscription departments of every news source are the worst! I would gladly subscribe to some local sources if I could speak to a real human being located nearby who isn't trying to scam me. Try to unsubscribe and you will be funneled into customer service Hell! And it won't work...

Wrote about @zamosta.bsky.social's wonderful op-ed in the NY Times regarding how the biggest tech companies actually did, in the past, push back against gov't overreach, but almost all of which have decided to capitulate and see what they can get for themselves now...
