HardFork…typo…or should I say “hallucination”?

Been a huge worry of mine. HardFord podcast keeps saying home much AI will help in the medical field without ever discussing the biased data the AI is trained on and that, maybe, 2 white men are not thinking about this issue fully.

They originally went for this odd womanly/yet child look...making her hair and makeup much older, and then putting her in this babydoll get-up.

Then the new director tossed that out and went for a simpler, country girl look, that is a lot less disturbing.

Oh noooooooo.

My parents paid for cable just so we could have PBS.

Because tiny town Oregon in the 80s only had NBC w/o cable. Cable gave 8-10 channels, including PBS.

I was 10 when I found out my grandmother in Portland who had more channels than us, didn’t have cable.

I was in awe- she had PBS for free.

Everyone is safe. It was very well managed. But my child would prefer to ride horses than little ponies.

It had honestly reached the point where I was nearly in tears every time I sat down at the keyboard.

All I wanted to do was work with dogs and horses and volunteer at the SPCA.

I still enjoy that.

But it is nice to enjoy the writer-me, again, too.

Plus, some basic code commands.

I'm dead dog-tired, my house is FILTHY, the SPCA probably thinks I've vanished, my to-do list is mindboggling long, none of this is in my name, and the pay is beneath a long drop toilet...but at last I'm enjoying writing again.

Working with animals pretty much requires you toss all dignity aside.

I had to join work due to work. The only reason I use it is for that specific purpose.

I am sure the place is great. But it’s my kids’ main online hangout and I really think they deserve to have an online space where they don’t accidentally run into mom.

That is disappointing to hear.

I still remember people I once respected defending Isreal, saying we don’t know what really happened, that Isreal would have never done that on purpose…

And I don’t recall a single apology for the scolding or implying that anyone who thought Isreal did it was taking part in antisemitism.
