connection without touch,
voices without breath.
We drink to numb the pain
or excite the brain-
poisoned, borrowed joy from a bottle.
We fall into situationships
for a moment of intimacy,
a temporary sense of safety for the night.
We binge on junk food filled with fluff-
empty comfort disguised as nourishment.
