Once poll by poll results up will you be updating ridingbuilder.ca to give results by municipality and census divisions? That would be interesting to see shifts and map

I think it comes down to history. Canada is a smaller country that is seen threatened by bigger gives left upper hand. Patriotism in Canada is being not American, not less immigrants or leaving EU like UK patriots push.

Always has been. Many go on idea right most patriotic as that is case in US and also many other countries. But in Canada its mostly on left as patriotism is about preserving our identity which is progressive.

And he will lose. Carney is soaring in the polls and its just started. PP will lose and base will be seized with four years of civil war.

Thank goodness they lost. Like or dislike they are not like the BC Liberals were even though both right wing. BC Conservatives much more extreme and are Maple MAGAs

We may need to ban X during writ period to protect integrity of election

26.01.2025 06:57 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 3    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

This is what we need for prime minister.

If I were a billionaire I would be thankful of my luck, but still stay true to my values and also help others with less not be sellouts to a Fascist like these guys are.

US and Europe have a history of electing leaders like seeing today Canada does not thus my skepticism. Sure internet and social media reduces barriers but I still always believe cultural values change gradually over decades not suddenly

Could be wrong and its a gut feeling not any data but my gut feeling is Liberals come back and win next election. Probably only a minority but I just don't buy Poilievre is popular. If was leaders like him would win more often but don't

20.01.2025 04:24 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I am getting one hopefully later this year. Will help get through tough times. Especially as risk my country makes same mistake although we still haven't had our election. Either way great to have such companion

Seeing Ekos and Mainstreet polls, one thing is clear, Liberals on the rise, Tories declining. How far it goes don't know but I think chances of Liberal win even if under 50% much better than most pundits care to admit.

17.01.2025 21:30 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Unless Trump pulls back on his tariffs, I think next Monday will be the beginning of a really bad recession in both Canada and US and probably worldwide. Could be worse than 2008 one.

17.01.2025 03:29 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Also Trump promise of gradual increases in tariffs so hit not so sudden probably played a role too. Off course who knows with Trump.

15.01.2025 20:27 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Even Alberta under UCP has one. Notley brought it in but Kenney never repealed it, only the consumer one.

15.01.2025 06:00 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I stayed for that reason. Hopefully Musk gets tired of it and sells it so can get a more reasonable owner.

15.01.2025 05:36 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

And means CPC lost main plank of campaign. I said once Trudeau resigned would. My guess is keeps industrial carbon tax but scraps consumer one.

15.01.2025 05:29 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

It's why I am positive polls will tighten. Not sure if will lose but no way he gets in high 40s. Even 40% is probably on high side

15.01.2025 05:06 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Or just do population exchanges with US and it would be one for one.

15.01.2025 03:08 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

What is it with modern Conservatives acting like bullies & being nasty? Yes left sometime can which is unhelpful but I feel like current CPC & GOP much like high school bullies and lack decency we were taught to have.

15.01.2025 02:47 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Absolutely and shocking how well right is doing everywhere. Some people lean a little right which is fine but more reactionary types were in most places on fringe or at least clearly a minority unlike now.

15.01.2025 00:53 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I trust science behind polling, but must admit I too find this hard to believe. Anecdotally Trudeau was not well liked, but neither is Poilievre. Guessing since CPC voters firm, undecided will break against them.

15.01.2025 00:30 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

If and this is big if this materializes likely merge. At same time I don't think CPC will stay at 47%. If had a more reasonable leader possible but Poilievre is very unlikeable and when exposed it will decline. Question is how much.

15.01.2025 00:29 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Carney is going to be next PM. Real question is can he beat Poilievre? I think he can. Not saying will but I think there is a chance.

15.01.2025 00:28 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I think Carney not only wins leadership race but will close gap quite a bit and may even win next election outright. Won't be easy but definitely plausible.

15.01.2025 00:27 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I think he is going to do a lot better than most think. I think there is about a 25% chance he wins outright if chosen as leader and with Trump tariffs and his knowledge I think odds likely go up.

14.01.2025 22:01 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Hopefully right wing trolls won't pile on like on X but I think not only will Mark Carney be next leader of LPC, I think may win election too. He is adult and accomplished and not a bully like PP who people may tire of.

14.01.2025 20:11 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 1    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Still needs to hash out more details and has more hurdles to clear but cleared this well. If I were a conservative I would be a tad nervous about running against him

14.01.2025 08:37 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Actually more have degrees today. I think reason educated voted for parties on right was less common so incomes significantly higher and thus tax cuts appealed.

04.12.2024 02:38 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

As hard as to believe, in 80s GOP, PCs in Canada, and British Tories actually did best with most educated voters. Today total opposite. Certainly a lot of their younger staffers very stupid and nasty too.
