I hope so. My autistic rigidity often gets in the way of being able to stay gentle and patient. 42 years and I’m still working on that. But at least I’m not trying to be stuck in my ways about it.

And follow that same formula with every single concept and topic of debate or conversation. They do it X way, so they assume we do the exact opposite. They’re told how extreme we are, but it’s actually they who are extreme in most cases, and they won’t learn that every accusation is a confession.

I really appreciate that line at the end, especially. I’m not sure it would have a great impact, but it’s still really important to hold a firm line on that concept. There’s this very bizarre notion that they should only listen to sources that inform the bias, and they assume we do the same thing

It’s always something. And I couldn’t see most of it until I’d finished making the transition from VERY conservative (religious brainwashing) to moderate, to radical Leftist. 😜 The blinders started slowly coming off around 2012, I guess, but it was a full out brawl by 2020.

This is the other thing I wrestle with. They are FAMILY! In many cases, the ones who raised us and have now turned on us in the face of some really intense and wildly messed up stuff. I’m already low/limited contact, but what else are we supposed to do??
