I could see the use case for a small local model, but learning patterns? Then you’re talking training, and that sounds a lot harder to do safely.

slam is a 4 year old golden doodle fwiw. he *hates* having his paws touched, but he knows i'm gonna do what i want to do, so he doesn't fight me about it anymore. i'm mostly looking for some kinda device that will help clip his claws without potentially hurting him.

i'm scared to clip slam's nails because they are so dark and i can't see where i'm supposed to stop. groomers won't do it because he shows teeth (he won't bite, but they don't know that). he'll let me do whatever i need to do under protest (he flops over and won't move). any suggestions/advice?

yeah, i usually end up having to do something like that. which is a break from how i usually talk to AI - like a peer. sometimes i give very precise instructions when i feel like it's going to do things i don't want. but i don't spend a lot of time constructing prompts unless i need to.

i had the option to do it without ai, but i always get nervous while livecoding, so this seemed like a better idea at the time & much more representative of how i usually write code now.

and yeah, that spun off a whole conversation about NT patterns in training data. i thought it was interesting.

half of my interactions end up being:

me: why did you do that thing
claude/gpt: <undoes thing> sorry, i won't do thing.
me: i didn't say undo it, i asked why

eventually i asked the AI why it always treats "why" as "don't do this" and it explained it was a neurotypical thing. fucking figures.

usually i just discuss the architecture, break it out into modules, write & test each module, keeping tight reigns on claude because he's like an overeager junior dev eager to re-implement the wheel. the end result usually comes from a skeleton that i write + claude filling in the gaps.

i've never actually seen someone else code with ai. i have no idea if i'm doing it the "right" way. i don't know if there is a right way. this is actually a nightmare.

i have a job interview coming up, and it's a ai assisted live coding exam. heck, yeah. stress = gone.

later, i realized that i'm going to be judged on how i talk to the AI to solve the problem.

as an autistic person, being judged on my interactions is not in fact a "heck, yeah" situation.
