The OOLO Playtest branch has been updated with the beta build--we're getting so close to launch!
The last thing that went into the build were markers for items you find on the map. Remembering where things were you couldn't reach just got a lot easier!

I couldn't WAIT to finally get one, and getting to try out Super Mario 64 on a demo kiosk in Toys R Us blew my mind.

Key influences would of course be Solstice and Equinox (it's SNES sequel), and then Landstalker to a lesser degree.
Some more surprising/unexpected influences would be Dark Souls and Adventures of Lolo (NES).
That was one of the big inspirations yes! Always wanted to play more games like that and there just never were that many. So I made one myself!
