Before and after photos of an intersection: Top photo shows the intersection without any painted crosswalks. Bottom photo shows the intersection with four painted crosswalks. Both photos show a tribute of candles, flowers, and children's toys marking the corner where 9-year-old Nadir Gavarrete died.
Three days ago 9-year-old Nadir Gavarrete and his brother were hit by a driver at 4th & New Hampshire in Ktown. Nadir died and his brother is hospitalized. LA city officials are well aware of the dangers of this intersection and have done nothing.

The ADL's hypothetical scenario involving flyers critical of Israel's demolition program encapsulates many other issues that those who reviewed the material or completed a training raised. The scenario begins with a student leaving their dorm room to find a flyer taped to the door "warning that your residence hall will soon be demolished" "The rest of the flyer contains 'facts' about how many Palestinian homes have been demolished by the Israeli military to collectively punish and 'ethnically cleanse' Palestinians," the toolkit continues. The ADL is referring to the highly charged debate over Israel's mass expulsion of Palestinians from their homes in the West Bank. The training material then offers the Israeli narrative around the demolitions, claiming they target "terrorists" and "deter others from terrorist action". *. Other homes were demolished because they were "built without proper permits", the ADL states. "While you may agree or disagree with these Israeli government actions, the charge that Israel has demolished these homes to 'ethnically cleanse' Palestinians is inaccurate and inflammatory," the ADL material states.
According to the Guardian, the ADL is now creating education materials for schools in which the civil rights organization justifies Israeli demolitions of Palestinian homes in occupied Palestinian territory.

Thousands of Palestinians remain in Israeli detention without any form of due process or idea if or when they'll be released.

They are confined in closed rooms all day, without fresh air or space to move.

What do you call it again, when Jews enjoy legal protection and leniency while Palestinians spend years in administrative detention without ever being charged with a crime?
My friend Chris was kidnapped by Israel for trying to bring food into Gaza and we just learnt he was beaten by Israeli police.
We demand Chris' release ASAP
Haaretz journalist:
"Soldiers arrived at the mourning tent of Odeh Al-Hadaleen and removed journalists, activists, and Palestinians who are not residents of the village, claiming the area had been declared a closed military zone. Later, they also threw stun grenades at journalists on site."
Moments before Awdah was killed.
The murderer, Yinon Levi, has long been known for his extreme violence and harassment of the Umm al Khair community. He was under sanction under the Biden administration and is still under sanctions by the EU, the UK and Canada.
Even if he were an asshole, he wouldn't have deserved this. Even if he were a bitter, mean-spirited person, he wouldn't have deserved this.
He just happened to be a beautiful human being.
Awdah wearing a cap backward
Awdah, who hosted us last summer in Umm El Kheir, was shot and killed by a settler today. Awdah, whose community was displaced in 1948 and has again been facing ethnic cleansing, home demolitions, harassment and violence, was murdered by Israel.
He was among the warmest, kindest humans I ever met
Indeed, nothing more than a "show of force"

This kind of operation seems to only serve one purpose: to terrorize the community.
CBP showed up with helicopters, dozens of military vehicles, and military gears, stayed in the park for 20 minutes and left without having done anything. Most street vendors went home and many businesses closed.
It seems to be over. ICE and national guard are gone from the park, LAPD is gone too now (though it's unclear why they were here in the first place if they weren't going to protect the community from abductions).
At least we saw how quickly the community showed up, a full hour before the press.
Imagine being this afraid of abuelas

When Israeli leaders disagree about whether to ethnically cleanse Palestinians or not, it's never because one of them thinks it would be wrong. It's only because one thinks it would be impractical.
