The anatomy of a diaper is quite simple, but understanding the materials helps us block out each of the most important parts. I like to use darker, stronger shades for the thicker, stronger plastics. A grayscale diaper and red monochrome diaper are laid out side to side, labeled on the left with blocked out parts, and on the right with a colour swatch reference, along with colourpicked spots from a palette in HLS mode (triangle-shaped picker). The parts labeled on the grayscale one are "landing strip (sturdy plastic)," "tapes (thick, adhesive)," "wings (thin plastic)," "padding (plastic backed stuffing)," each pointing in the appropriate place.
