And the Republican-ed Congress allows Trump to do that which he has no authority to do. Courts can’t keep up.

Sam Altman’s anti-human worldview OpenAI CEO downgrades humanity in pursuit of goal to merge with computers

OpenAI is a menace. Two recent stories make that clearer than ever.

One day you have Sam Altman denigrating humanity to defend AI. The next, WSJ reveals OpenAI could have alerted Canadian police of a potential mass shooter, but refused pressure from employees. That person went on to kill 8 people.

Apparently officers decided to walk through a snowball fight in progress, based on the OP's posting of a large snowball fight just before this one.

If that's true, why the shoving from the officers?

Traumatized Hainesport Twp. residents forced to dispose dead birds amid suspected outbreak Chiquita Anderson, who lives in the Lakeside at Creekview community, said her son recently watched a bird fall from the sky in her backyard.

it can be used against anyone you don't like for whatever reason, but often it is used against marginalized people. the suggestion here that Mamdani is getting above himself seems especially telling. (The NYT saying Muslims are supposed to stay in their place.)

Specific examples of what a minority party can do (like Senate Gabe's) seem like a good way to educate & empower the public in terms of pressuring our representatives for action.

Opinion: UCLA's AI policies must be consistent, include more regulations on faculty use - Daily Bruin This post was updated Feb. 22 at 6:55 p.m. One energy drink down and you are in the midst of considering whether to use ChatGPT for a five-point assignment.

I missed this opinion column in our own @dailybruinan.bsky.social on Feb. 1: "If students are barred from using ChatGPT for a five-point assignment, professors should not be quietly encouraged to rely on it." Hard agree! dailybruin.com/2026/02/01/o...

After considerable soul-searching, I feel compelled to withdraw from the BAFTA emerging talent judging panel. The organisation's handling of the unfortunate Tourette's N-Word incident last night at the awards was utterly unforgivable. I cannot and will not contribute my time energy and expertise to an organisation that has repeatedly failed to safeguard the dignity of its Black guests, members and the Black creative community. This is particularly unfortunate given that this year's cohort boasts some incredible Black talent, especially one of my favourite shows of 2025 "Just Act Normal". However, when an organisation like BAFTA, with its own long history of systemic racism, refuses to acknowledge the harm inflicted on both the Black and disabled communities and offer an appropriate apology, remaining involved would be tantamount to condoning its behaviour. I hope BAFTA leadership comprehend the damage they and the BBC have caused and take the necessary steps to ensure their production staff are inclusive enough to prevent such an issue in the future.
Yours sincerely, Jonte Richardson

Australian PM backs removing of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor from line of royal succession β€œI agree with His Majesty that the law must now take its full course and there must be a full, fair and proper investigation,” Anthony Albanese wrote.

"Last week, a U.K. official said the British government was considering introducing legislation to ensure Mountbatten-Windsor, currently eighth-in-line to the throne, could never be king following his arrest as part of a police investigation into his ties with Jeffrey Epstein.

Lindo told Vanity Fair that we "did what we had to do" in that moment when the racial slur was said by John Davidson, who is diagnosed with Tourette syndrome and attended the BAFTA Film Awards as the subject of the nominated biopic "I Swear."
Sources told Variety after the ceremony that floor managers informed guests and attendees sitting around Davidson of his condition. According to multiple sources, none of the nominees or attendees were contacted by BAFTA or BBC ahead of the show to notify them.

Imagine the AI profiles they will no doubt engage in to generate predictions and "proof" on which to lock people up.
